Progressing into the New Year:
A Yoga and Sound Journey
Led by Jenna Csont and Jay Taylor
Cost: $40 pre-registration / $50 at the door
Friday, January 25, 2019
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Start the year off right by making a commitment to the health of your body and mind. Jenna Csont and Jay Taylor have partnered to create a unique experience with this goal in mind.
On this 2-hour journey Jenna will guide you through a yogic progression: incorporating yogic breath work as well as a vinyasa flow sequence to warm up the body and sync movement with the breath. Longer holds and props will also be incorporated to move more deeply into the tissue while restorative postures will be incorporated to release excess tension and slow the mind.
Throughout the practice, Jay will be providing live sound using the guitar, gong, crystal bowls, kalimba and voice. The vibrations that these sounds provide will be used to support but also challenge you in your practice.
This class will culminate in a 30-minute sound voyage while you rest and absorb the vibrations of the instruments, assisting you in re-harmonizing your body on a cellular level. Leave your expectations at the door and take charge of this year by taking care of what’s most important: you!
It’s Friday night! Everyone is invited to stay after the event to mingle with like-minded (and equally blissed-out) people and enjoy some healthy treats & tea.
Jay brings clients back into harmony. He believes that everyone is doing their best at any given moment AND that expanding our version of 'best' can be accomplished through the release of stress, healing of trauma, and the loving consideration of the body. As a special education teacher in Chicago for the past 10 years, Jay understands that he must meet each person he works with right where they are in their consciousness. Through the use of the gong, crystal bowls, shakers, voice, and guitar, Jay takes participants on a Sound Voyage that results in the total relaxation of the physical body, re-tuning of the energetic body, and the release of accumulated heavy energy.
Jenna Csont, 500 RYT
Practicing for over 10 years, Jenna decided to pursue her YTT in 2015. With a fascination for anatomy and the ways in which each mind and body functions on an individual level she was left feeling like she wanted more in order to deepen her practice and care for her students. A mentor and teacher suggested she study Yoga Therapy and in 2017 she began her journey. She is particularly passionate about utilizing the breath to work with anxiety and depression and enjoys empowering and educating others on the wonders of the nervous system. She is a firm believer that yoga is for everyone and there is always something to be gained when given a safe place to work on self-exploration.
