Management and Prevention of Common Foot Injuries

Have you been treated for plantar fasciitis, neuromas, or stress fractures in your foot? Would you like to understand how to manage foot pain daily while you heal? Do you stand all day or do speed/distance/hill training? Do you wear tight shoes, pointed shoes or high heels? If you answered “yes” to any of these...don’t miss this unique workshop!
In this workshop, you will:
Learn structure & function of your foot so you can communicate with (and understand) healthcare professionals
Address the causes of common injuries while managing pain
Perform simple foot strengthening exercises and stretches
There will be some lecture as well as time for Q & A. Bring a notebook & a pen. Expect to take shoes off, but you can keep socks on if you prefer.
Tonna began studying alignment in 1987, as a dancer, then as an athlete. She observes how biomechanics informs your movement from a variety of perspectives teaches people to move with integrity. Yoga (and Pilates) are her favorite modalities for demonstrating this integration. As a teacher she aims to inform, entertain and inspire her students to make intelligent choices for their practice.
Tonna studied Exercise Physiology and Kinesiology at UIC. She has worked with rehab specialists and taught medical professionals at conferences and at Northwestern. She holds her 500+ hour CYT from Moksha Yoga Center.
