Facilitated by Dr. Catherine Lewan
Cost: $50 pre-registration
Join Catherine to explore integrative restoration (iRest) yoga nidra as a tool for healing. iRest has been shown in clinical trials to reduce symptoms of chronic pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and insomnia.
Catherine will highlight relevant scientific theory and research and how it can be applied to facilitate neuroplasticity, resilience, and recovery from trauma. A guided practice of iRest will follow, with participants assuming a comfortable restorative pose that is conducive to self-inquiry and relaxation.
Participants will receive a link to an audio recording of the guided iRest session so that they can continue this healing practice on their own. No yoga or meditation experience is required, all are welcome.
Registered yoga teachers may earn Yoga Alliance continuing education and gain valuable skills for working with students who have symptoms of chronic pain or trauma.
