Participants will receive light, customized acupuncture delivered by a licensed acupuncturist before experiencing a guided meditation. Individual aromatherapy will also be offered as a part of the experience. Beginners and frazzled minds are welcome.
Erica Bray is a yoga, meditation and mindfulness teacher. Her intention is to help you cultivate new curiosity and awareness so that you can change your relationship to stress – to heal, evolve and ultimately transform. A graduate of Northwestern University (B.S., M.S.) and Mayo Clinic’s Wellness Coaching Training, she is a certified yoga teacher with more than 1,000 hours of specialized training. This includes Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training through UMass Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness and in-person studies with renowned teachers such as Jon Kabat-Zinn and Sharon Salzberg.
Erica grew up in a household where meditation was the norm and deeply knows the positive effects it can have on a Type A personality living an always-on lifestyle, as it helped her navigate her own relationship to stress during a successful 20-year career as a global media-marketing executive and travel journalist.
After taking a life-changing sabbatical across Nepal, India, Thailand and China to study with diverse teachers, including time at ashram, Erica decided to transition out of corporate work to focus on something more meaningful: helping people find their unique path to optimal wellness in a mindful way. In her free time, Erica enjoys cooking with her partner Ryan, sampling Chicago bakeries and organizing travel adventures.
Kim Victorine, L.Ac, MSTOM, is a graduate of a four year Master of Science graduate program from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago. Kim is also pursuing her Doctorate in Chinese Medicine which is anticipated to be finished by the end of 2018. Kim also became a yoga teacher in 2013 from Moksha Yoga studios in Chicago, obtaining her 200 hr certification. Prior to that she lived in the corporate world selling capital equipment into hospital laboratories. While she enjoyed collaborating with healthcare professionals she always knew she was meant to work more one on one hands on in the healing arts. Her three years volunteering at Children’s Memorial Hospital solidified that crave for something deeper, meaningful, and selfless. Having struggled with a multitude of ailments ranging from stress, insomnia, and pain she over time discovered the power of eastern asian medicine as well as the Ayurvedic teachings through her studies in yoga. Kim has collaborated with Project Vida in South Lawndale working with the local HIV population over several years. She has also teamed up with the Chicago Women’s Health Collective on the Northside working with a wide array of patient populations including fertility, trauma, transgender transitions, and OB/GYN issues. She started her acupuncture adventure working in the Pacific College clinic treating a variety of issues, primarily focusing on Orthopedic conditions, anxiety/depression, and gut related issues tying in a keen look on the diet . Kim strives to connect the heart via whole wellness to be able to gain a higher level of compassion. This will ultimately heal and levitate our inner spirit to be at more peace to cope with everyday
stresses. The ability to quiet the mind so that we can listen to our inner voice and tap into a greater level of consciousness can help us heal what the body already knows but just needs an extra push.
In her free time, Kim enjoys the pleasures of raising a new teenager and cooking and entertaining for her friends and family.
